Welcome to Anderdon

The Township of Anderdon was established in 1796, shortly after the British lost the American Revolutionary War. To fortify their presence, they built Fort Malden, which overlooks the Detroit River. This military fort is now a national historical site within the Town of Amherstburg, drawing many visitors interested in local history.

In 1998, Anderdon was amalgamated into Amherstburg, shifting its administrative identity. The downtown area features charming homes built in a century-old French architectural style, reflecting the region’s heritage.
